Thunder Volleyball Academy 2010 Winter Clinics
This year’s winter clinic is divided into two parts — the first part is going to be about learning all the basic skills and the second part will be about competition. This is to accommodate the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, as well as spring break.
U13/14 Dates: The U13/14s will run on Saturday mornings from 9:00 to 11:00 and 11:00 to 1:00. January 9, 16, 23, 30, February 6…Olympics… February 27…Spring Break…March 20, 27, April 3, 10.
The cost is $240. [ REGISTER ]
U15/16 Dates: The U15/16s will be on Wednesday nights from 6:30 to 8:30, (this is the correct time*). January 13, 20, 27, February 3, 10…Olympics… March 3…Spring Break…March 17, 24, 31 April 7.
The cost is $250. [ REGISTER ]
Location: The clinics are all held at the Immaculate Conception gym in Dunbar — 3776 West 28th Ave. The entrance to the gym is down the plaza between the church and Parish Centre. Parking is available behind the school off 27th Ave.
The cost of the programs is more than our usual programs because this program is longer. The session between the Olympics and Spring break is when you will all be divided into teams. For the rest of the sessions you will be coached as a team and compete against each other. During this phase you will be taught the game skills and defensive strategies etc.
Please be aware that the format may change if the change is deemed beneficial to the athletes.

*There was a type error on the registration page, this is the correct time for the clinic
I registered for session #1 and the charge was 250 $, not 240 $ as it says here. Is it a typo?

@Meg Walwyn it was entered backwards… apologize for the mistake
should the 30 u-13s that are going to be at the final tryout tomorrow wait till we get team results to register for the winter clinics?
@Claire – Yes, you should wait, but please also ask the coaches today at the tryout.
Hi -I am trying to figure out if there are some occasional clinics (like serving or spiking) that my U-14 (born 1996) daughter could attend…the every saturday one is too much I think as she does other sports and teams. she played volleyball for Kitsilano Bantam this year and would like to keep up her skills… Thanks,Diane
@ Diane Montgomery- You can contact me directly at gordtait@telus.net sorry for the late response.
