Chris Berglund

A recent graduate of UBC and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the NSCA, I am in my 4th season as the Head Strength Coach. I started with the team when I returned to finish my Human Kinetics degree in 2005. I have been a part of numerous college programs as a player and coach including Douglas, Capilano, Langara, and Columbia Bible College. Berg, as the team calls me, have been an active coach with the Provincial Teams for the past 3 years as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coordinator for all programs and was the Assistant Coach for the 17U Women Western Canada Summer Games Gold Medalists. In addition, I am the Assistant Coach for the Canada Games Women’s Team that competed in Korea this past summer in preparation for the 2009 Canada Games in PEI next August. Most recently, I have been appointed the new Technical Coordinator for the Indoor programs at Volleyball BC.

Coaching Philosophy

As a coach, I value honesty, integrity, and perseverance. I hope to allow athletes to excel in player development, building of quality character, and an increase in athletic performance. These principles will help build the Champion of Character needed to be a successful athlete, and person.
