High Performance Beach Camp

It is not very often we get the privilege of having a world champion share his experience with our athletes. The High Performance Beach Camp coached by Sam Schachter (Jr. World Champion 2010) and Maverick Hatch (Canadian national team athlete) is being held July 11-14.

Sam and Maverick have been training full time since 2008. Throughout that time they have had the pleasure of being coached by past Olympians, top-level international coaches, and the best Canadian coaches around. Both Maverick and Sam have learned the in’s and out’s of the international game of beach volleyball, and many different styles of the game as well. These experiences have allowed them to pass on what they’ve learned to any age group, and any skill level. As young athletes playing on the World Tour, this also allows them to connect with youth athletes and make learning much easier as they were there just 5 years ago.

Thunder Beach Skills Volleyball Camp
July 11-14, 2011

This beach camp is primarily focused on improving the athlete’s fundamental skills and abilities. This is a unique opportunity because of the exceptional coaching staff. The camp will run by CIS and national team athletes. National team duo, Sam Schachter and Maverick Hatch are taking time away from their busy summer season to share what they have learned on the international circuit with aspiring athletes in BC. This is a great opportunity to get feed back from the best of the best. We are excited to share everything we know about beach volleyball to improve the each and every player. We want to create a fun environment for all athletes to learn and improve.

Performance Specialization Camps

Message from Gordon Tait at Thunder Academy re; “Performance Specialization Camps”

This is one of the few camps we recommend and every year many of our Thunder members get disappointed because they did not register in time. It has been specifically for setters but this year they have added left side and Libero training. Over the past several years I have sent athletes to this camp even though they were not setters. If you have any specific questions you can contact Chris directly: cdensmor@interchange.ubc.ca. Gord
