Thunder Season Update – Indoor and Beach

Thunder Volleyball Club is committed to following the protocols in place from Volleyball BC and Volleyball Canada as the health and safety of our volleyball community is – and will always be – our primary concern.

With all Indoor Provincial and Nationals tournaments cancelled, the 2020 season for all age groups has ended. While we are all disappointed that there is no more indoor volleyball for our teams this season, we are supportive of the difficult decisions facing Volleyball Canada and Volleyball BC in managing Covid-19 directives.

A huge thank you to our coaches, players and parents for a great start to this short season! We are very proud of the excellence and effort our teams exhibit on and off the court. A special shout out to our senior players as they move onto post-secondary opportunities and to all our Thunder families for supporting our club.

Our Thunder coaches have been working behind the scenes to create virtual opportunities to help keep the girls’ spirits up, provide some volleyball leadership and give the girls something to look forward to. Please see the following link:

We know that this is a not an easy time for everyone and to the best of our ability we will try to figure out the financial details around refunds. This will take time as we work with VBC and our other partners to figure out the logistics and timelines so your patience is much appreciated.

The Thunder Executive and Coaches

Thunder Beach will be suspended for the spring/summer of 2020. With the current pandemic situation all Thunder Beach programs will be put (hopefully) on hold until this whole situation blows over. It is impossible to predict when that will happen but if/when it does we will have some programs ready to go.

We as a volleyball community have a social responsibility to do everything we can to make this situation better. It takes everyone working together to make social distancing work. Please spread this message to the best of your ability. If you see someone doing something they shouldn’t call them out on it. We are all in this together.

Thanks and stay healthy.
