Looking for extra high-level training this fall? UBC Recreation is running its Women’s Volleyball Academy, and with our close ties to the UBC Thunderbirds Women’s Volleyball program, we wanted to make sure our Thunder families knew about it.
The Academy is aimed at high-level club athletes looking to sharpen their skills in a competitive training environment. The 15-17 age groups require prior club experience competing at Volleyball BC Provincial Championships, and a skills assessment may take place on day one to make sure everyone lands in the right group. The U11-U13 sessions are open to all skill levels, with ability-based grouping.

Good to Know
- Coaches may adjust groupings if a skill level isn’t the right fit for the academy environment.
- Waitlisted sessions may open up additional spots depending on demand – don’t hesitate to join the waitlist.
- A consent form is required before your athlete can participate.
