About Thunder

Club Mission

The Vancouver Thunder Volleyball Club provides an opportunity for youth to participate in volleyball for both the pursuit of excellence and the enjoyment of the sport. We aim to help participants develop as players and individuals. We strive to build strong club teams, and in turn, to contribute to the ongoing development of school volleyball in Vancouver.

Club Overview

The Vancouver Thunder Volleyball Club is a non-profit, volunteer-run club founded in 2000 to provide an opportunity for athletes to participate in volleyball for both the pursuit of excellence and the enjoyment of the sport.

We are proud of our close association with the UBC Thunderbirds Women’s Volleyball Program headed up by Doug Reimer. Many Thunder players have gone on to play for Post Secondary institutions across North America in recent years.

Currently, Thunder offers girls’ indoor club volleyball for ages 12U-18U. The indoor club season runs from January-May. Throughout the remainder of the year, we offer skills and position-specific training, as well as beach programs.
