About Thunder

Club Overview
Thunder is a non-profit, volunteer-run club that was founded in 2000 to provide an opportunity for athletes to participate in volleyball for both the pursuit of excellence and the enjoyment of the sport.
We are proud of our close association with the UBC Thunderbird women’s volleyball program. Four former Thunder club players are currently playing on the UBC Thunderbird team. In recent years the 18&U Girls Hi-Performance team has practiced with the UBC Thunderbird team. UBC Thunderbird team members coach in our 13&U Train & Play program, and help out in other club programs.
Club Mission
The Vancouver Thunder Volleyball Club provides an opportunity for youth to participate in volleyball for both the pursuit of excellence and the enjoyment of the sport. We aim to help participants develop as players and individuals. We strive to build strong club teams, and in turn, to contribute to the ongoing development of school volleyball in Vancouver.
